About me
Hello!
I’m Hannah and I’m an artist. I work from my home studio in beautiful Northumberland, where I live with my family and cat.
I’m predominantly a painter; I paint landscapes, nature, wildlife and pets, usually in acrylic or watercolour. I love to capture the light, big skies and tiny details in nature. My work is largely representational but I do love colour!
I love my art to tell a story and, as a self-confessed geek, hand drawn maps are an obsession of mine, both illustrated geographical ones and “vision maps” (more about those on my blog page if you’re interested). I also take commissions for book illustrations.
On my website you’ll find original paintings, giclée prints and a small range of products featuring my original designs.
I welcome commissions for bespoke art: let me help capture a special place, beloved pet or important moment for you forever, bring your company's business strategy or organisation’s vision and values to quirky, artistic life, solve a present quandary for a special birthday, anniversary or hard-to-buy-for relative or simply add some colour to your room!
I’m working hard to make my business as sustainable as possible; you’ll find recycled cards (not the floppy variety!), and recyclable / compostable packaging wherever possible. My printers and framer are UK-based (mostly northeast-based!). In fact, my excellent framer also happens to live nextdoor!
When I’m not drawing, painting or taking photographs, I’m usually to be found running (slowly!), walking, chatting, reading, listening to music, visiting galleries, learning Italian, throwing myself into the North Sea, or drinking wine and eating crisps.
